WEDNESDAY STUDIOS is a research-led practice of artists, architects, curators and theorists founded by Sanné Mestrom (artist and academic), Melissa Loughnan (curator, consultant and director of Utopian Slumps) and Anna Ciliberto (director of Ciliberto Architects).
At WEDNESDAY STUDIOS we are interested in how children and adults relate to the built environment, exploring ways that public art can create increasingly integrated, inclusive and interactive spaces.
Our practice designs and delivers artist-designed, children-led playgrounds and playable sculpture for the public realm. We aim to expand the role of art in contributing to current definitions of ‘play’ – particularly as it relates to social, physical and experiential understandings of ‘place’. Our projects connect creativity with movement and the body.
